In-flight update

At the time of this writing I could be exactly over the north pole, exciting.  Looking at the map, its hard to tell because it shows only ocean, we are above what appears to be Greenland.  Oddly it is dark here.  Checking it looks like we have 10 more hours to go, only 5 hours into the flight.  We had a 4:30AM wakeup (only had 4 hours of sleep due to poor planning and last second packing) , a flight to Atlanta, then a 8:30 flight to JFK, and then a LONG wait until 3:00ish, so it must be about 8:00PM east coast time. My eyes are dry and my nose hurts, perhaps from the prolonged dryness, or perhaps lack of sleep.  The back pain makes it hard to sleep.

Its been brutal.

Its -60C outside yikes.

Good news the plane has power supplies at each seat so I can run the PC for as long as I wish.  No options for internet … but we can live with that.

It’s a 14 hour ride.  The plane is not too full.  That’s good.  The Air is Dry we have to get drinks from time to time.

There is an amazing amount of free movies on demand. I am guessing 150 movies to select from.  Also detailed information on destinations and what not.

The plane is a monster, but not as big as they come.  It has 3 sections of seats, each with 3 people in them making 9 across.  We estimate the plane would yield about 1.5Million per flight if fully loaded … geeks … with time on their hands.

I am still having trouble sleeping.  I estimated I have had about 10 hours of sleep in the last 72 hours. I am very worried about getting sick due to exhaustion and I haven’t even experience the time difference.

The flight path goes almost due north from JFK , then down over Russia to HK.  Its kind of neat to look at HK on a map and read up on the history.

We had salmon for dinner with free wine. Harold tells me the beers are free but we haven’t had any.  I am in love with my noise canceling headphones on this flight.

A neat feature is an outside camera on the plane that allows you to see what’s going on outside the plan if your in a middle seat.  The video system puts Jetblue’s live tv to shame.

Ok back to work for me.
